JBL makes both of these, and they treat noise in opposite ways. The Live Beam 3 is a sealed earbud with adaptive ANC. The Soundgear Sense is an open-ear hook designed so you keep hearing traffic, teammates and the gym. If you want quiet, only the Live Beam 3 offers it. Its ANC is a tier below Bose and Sony on voices but softens commute rumble. If you need to hear what's around you on a run, only the Sense is built for that.
